WIDOK Association of Cultural Education was founded in 2000 by artists, curators ,journalists and other professionals.
We provide informal cultural education, organize workshops and run creative art initiatives. We are particularly interested in local art.
In our opinion, we operate in an interesting geographical area ?| Eastern Poland bordering with Belarus. Time is more still here than in Central Poland. Perhaps this has helped preserve the traditional rural landscape with unspoiled nature and typical architecture. The place combines a number of national traditions ?| Belarusian, Polish, Ukrainian and Jewish. Mostly, there are only few traces left. Traces worth protecting.
We appreciate tradition, however, we think in terms of modern art and look for new solutions.
Since 2002, we have been running a grant program for talented young people from low-income families. WIDOK does not receive regular subsidies, obtaining funds on a project basis instead. We are a non-profit organization.
